An event run by and for

fans of magical fantasy.

Alohomora! is a fan-run festival that brings the joy and creativity of magic to life. We are committed to unlocking a world of adventure for every witch and wizard, whether child or adult.

Love of the magical realm begins with the joy of reading some of the best magical series in the world. To demonstrate our undying commitment to literacy, we will donate a portion of all proceeds from the event to Free Books for Kids Town, a nonprofit organization that gives free books to children throughout our region.

Our Wonderful Volunteers

Our army of volunteers is the lifeblood of the festival. Interested in joining our troop? See our Volunteer tab for more information.

A children’s book writer and editor, and a graduate student in Children’s Literature at Hollins University, Jenette has dedicated her life to bringing the joy of reading to children. Her goal for the festival is to create a magical, immersive environment that will captivate children and adults and compel them to explore more through reading.

In addition to her role as a festival volunteer, Ruby also heads Free Books for Kids Town, which distributes free kids’ books to pick-up sites throughout Warren County and through programs within the Warren County school district. Wiles’ goal is to put a free book into the hands of every child in need in our region, and her goal for the festival is an increased focus on literacy.
